In order to create excellent custom software, we need a strong, unified, and healthy team who can work efficiently and intelligently. With company sponsored social events, Pleasant Solutions creates this strong atmosphere of teamwork while at the same time helping employees to live a balanced lifestyle. Our employees believe that Pleasant Solutions truly is a pleasant place to work.
Our first major company expenditure was a donation to sponsor a child from Kenya through World Vision (a Christian charity focused on reducing child poverty). We felt that this was the best way to help the global community as a company because child sponsorship allows us to contribute on a very regular basis. Donating to World Vision remains Pleasant Solution’s primary charitable donation. Pleasant Solutions has since grown to the sponsorship of 16 World Vision children, and with each new employee hired, we make the commitment to sponsor another child. This way, the company’s donations and social responsibility increase proportionally to our growth in size and number of employees. We encourage our employees to choose their child for the company to sponsor. Company policy also encourages employees to choose a sponsor child who is younger than 12 years of age so that the company can form a long-term commitment to the child. This responsibility does not end with the duration of the employee’s stay at Pleasant, either. Pleasant is committed to sponsoring these children to the end of World Vision’s term of sponsorship (10-15 years). We are committed to World Vision’s mission of helping vulnerable children and creating sustainable communities. Pleasant hopes to one day visit some or all of our sponsor children as a company.
Pleasant Solutions is also involved in our local business community. Members of our team are involved in frequent networking events and in other opportunities to connect with our local businesses. Thomas Stachura, CEO and co-owner of Pleasant Solutions, currently volunteers as a board member of the South Edmonton Business Association (SEBA), facilitating local business connections and partnerships. Pleasant Solutions is a member of SEBA as well as the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, and the World Trade Organization. We are also interested in local business partnerships that are mutually beneficial. Currently, we are partnered with several local businesses through direct exchange of work and through frequent referrals.
